Ghost Rider is one of those iconic, yet little known characters of Marvel. If you didn't read the comic, he really didn't have too many cross-overs as the other heros (sure their was marvel team-up, new fantastic four, etc) but compared to the Avengers, X-men, Punisher, etc. he really flew under the radar. With the movie coming out I think it warranted a visual guide by DK - and I feel they did not disappoint. Again, they managed to get an INCREDIBLY amount of information into this book. In usual DK fashion, the color & images are great, they touch on practically every aspect of Ghost Rider (movie included) and lay it out in such a way that you can jump around without having the need to do it chronologically.I have collected all the superhero DK Visual Guides and haven't been disappointed yet.
Ghost Rider the visual guide, is another in DK's outstanding visual guide series to superheros in the dc and marvel universes. This is an amazing guide to a truly unique in-depth fiery character. The book cover's the 2007 movie which was and still is in my view exceptionally good for it's time now and still does the character itself in it's story line justice. It also guides you into the world of this long twistedly complicated intricate history of this fiery, hero who first appeared in 1972.There are over 400 spectacular images, including stills from the movie, and insights into it's Marvel artists and writers throughout it's 30 year span history in which This factual informative guide takes you into this mythological mystical creation of an enriching history with it's exciting adventures of the very first Ghost Rider Noble Kale who sold his soul to Mephisto and made the worst deal of the century right up until to his modern descendants Johnny Blaze and Den Ketch, and their greatest allies and most evil foes Mephisto and Zarathos who are bonded into the soul of the Ghost Rider adventurer, in which Johnny Blaze is defeating Zarathos and reclaiming his long lost tainted evil soul from humanity and DK takes us into that journey of supernatural epic proportions in dementions in which i demons rule if they own your soul to regain what is not lost of your soul in which is not a mean feat unfortunetly for the faint hearted to get back because it takes courage and determination to gain it back from what was once lost of you and this is an obstacle which is impossible to defeat if you don't have the willpower to overcome it peramently. These myths still hold great value for money in it's storytelling and DK takes us into that world of the supernatural horror and supense andI would recommend this one to anyone who was and still is a Ghost Rider fan of the spirit of vengeance.
Despite being a B-class character in the Marvel Universe, Ghost Rider has always fascinated me for his distinctive look of a ferocious flaming skull headed demon riding a flaming motorcycle. How could you go wrong with such striking visual. Despite the weak premise and misfires in several comic book incarnations, I find myself not being able to resist the appeal of the iconic visuals. This book chronologically explores the many developments of Ghost Rider (minus the 60's western incarnation). From a humble beginning of the modern day version (the 70's) to the current leap into a major live action film (2007).Highly recommended for fans of Ghost Rider.
In spite of the small print in this compact book (which often made me squint), this is a surprisingly fascinating read into the world of Marvel's favorite supernatural vigilante. Aside from some apparent turns in the comic book (Ghost Rider's brief stint with the short-lived "Champions" team, for example), this book exhaustingly covers all...from the real world to the Underworld to everything in-between. How much the series has explored the concepts of demonic warfare & mysticism deeply has adversely affected the existence of GR. GR has undergone many changes, both in character & appearance: Sometimes, a compassionate heart beats under the demonic exterior, and other times, he is purely brutal. An excellent treatment of Old Flamehead, and a great read for all!
Used to own it when I reserved the DVD when it was a new release. Been years so CE I had it, but my interest re-ignited again. Feels good to have this collectable again. It is in very good condition, almost like new. I appreciate this. Thanks
Not only is this a awesome visual guide to Ghost Rider from everything from the comics to the movie but also is basically the Encyclopedia it has tons of facts and information about him the places he's been and supporting characters including villains 5 out of 5 by far
A great book for a Ghost Rider fan. The only critique I have is that some of the pictures seem blown up too large. This makes the image quality of the book suffer. But for casual reading at home, or a library, or coffee table, and so on, it is great!
It's flicking ghost rider. Of course it's awesome.
