A wonderful story I remembered from my teen years and found as enjoyable and as thought-provoking upon a rereading thirty years later. James W Schultz and those who told him their stories certainly knew the best of the storytelling craft!

HIS WIFE AND CHILDREN FOLLOWED HIM FAITHFULLY AS HE FOOLISHLY LEFT THEIR TRIBE. DURING THEIR TRAVELS, THEY SUFFERED HEARTACHE, HARDSHIP AND WENT FROM BEING PROSPEROUS MEMBERS OF THEIR TRIBE TO POVERTY STRICKEN BEGGARS. THERE IS MORE TO THE STORY, AND IT IS WELL WORTH THE READ.

As a lover of all history I enjoy reading new material. As a native(albeit a small amount) I enjoyed this book. I actually read it quickly as I didn't want to put it down. An intriguing read.

Rockin' workouts and sound philosophy. Great material all around.

Great book. Well written and simple to follow in plain English. Very practical.

Just because an exercise is done with bodyweight doesn't mean it is functional. Some of these exercises are just plain weird and would never be useful in real life. And they can be hard on the lower back. I've purchases all of Mark's books but the only one that I still refer back to is Body By You. If I'm going to do body weight workouts going forward I'll stick with standard variations of pushups, pullups, rows, and squats..

This is a wonderful little set of Golden Books. My 3 year is really enjoying it. We have quite a few Golden Books already. Fortunately, we only had one duplicate (I am Bunny), but that is okay, because the duplicate is actually in a board book version. My 10 month is now enjoying that. I grew up being read, and reading Golden Books. I love the nostalgia, and they are great value. The set contains the following 12 books: The Poky Little Puppy, I Can Fly, The Sailor Dog, Scuffy the Tugboat, Wonders of Nature, The Three Bears, A Day at the Seashore, The Blue Book of Fairy Tales, Iâ€™m a Truck, I Am a Bunny, The Whispering Rabbit, and Katie the Kitten. They come packaged in a nice cardboard case, and include a poster with history each Little Golden Book contained in the set. I highly recommend this set. It is a great value, and the selection is great. If you love reading to your kids this will be a nice addition to your book collection.

This is a great collection of little golden books! The Collection came in great condition! I am saving them for my collection to give to my future grandchild. My set includes: Katie the Kitten, The Poky Little Puppy, I am Bunny, The Three Bears, I Can Fly, The Sailor Dog, I'm a Truck, The Blue Book of Fairy Tales, A Day at the Shore, Scruffy the Tugboat, Wonders of Nature and The Whispering Rabbit.

Good books, but very thin pages - not the quality I was expecting and remembered from my childhood. I will look in used book stores or goodwill for older printings of these going forward.

I love these books so much! I remember a lot of these from when I was little, and now I'm so happy to share them with my boys. The stories are long enough to keep my 3.5 year old engaged, and the pictures are colorful and intricate enough to keep my 22 month looking while I read. I cannot say enough how glad I am that I got these books! ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ“–

I received the books last night. It was already late past my kids bedtime (4 and 6 years old) and planned on reading just one of these. I wasnâ€™t sure how my 6 year old would be interested and at first he wasnâ€™t and complained but then i started reading one .. and he enjoyed it so much he kept giving me book after book to read for him. He loved the â€œNatureâ€ one . These are sweet sweet books . We read three last night even though he wanted more. My 4 year old unfortunately doesnâ€™t listen to any book I read or at least he is listening and playing simultaneously. He wonâ€™t sit focused.

The recipient of this 75th anniversary collection of Golden Books was celebrating a birthday much younger than 75. However, he looks forward to receiving treasures such as this. Some of the titles he remembered from his childhood; and his children had similar memories. Golden Books have been a "class act" throughout their 75 years in business. It is a gift that will treasured by the members of our family for another 75 years!

I oedered this set of books as a Birthday gift for my grandchildren. The company shipped it promptly to California. I ordered it specifically for the book Katie the Kitten as it had been read frequently to our daughter when she was small. Iâ€™m happy to have that book and the others for her children. Our grandson found new favorites in the box.

Though some of them Iâ€™ve never heard of, itâ€™s a great and cute collection! You even get a free poster with it! I like reading them to my nephew. If you want this set, Amazon is probably the best place to get it because I saw other sites and stores actually selling it for $50+ and thatâ€™s crazy.

This is an awesome book, very in depth and really easy to follow. I used this book for an online class and outside a handful of the steps in the Case problems at the ends of the chapters (stuff you will probably only use if you are using this in a class), it's awesome! I rented this book and it has everything I needed, and I think I will probably end up buying it. I feel if you are going to be working in any substantial business job, this would be handy to keep in your office. I had no idea Word had so many capabilities, and things are actually really simple to do, things I knew how to do but had been doing them the long, hard way all along.I already had some basic to intermediate knowledge of word, and coming from using Word 2007, there weren't really any major differences.Great book! All the files can be found through the publisher Cengage, it takes some digging, but you can find them, so no need to worry about buying used and not getting the supplemental materials. Buy used!

Great book! I am using it in my college course this semester. Good layout and very informative. Clear instructions, not hard to understand. Love the fact that I could save some of financial aid money and buy this book through Amazon. My college bookstore wanted twice the amount you were selling it for. I will let all my college friends know to come to Amazon to buy there college books and save their money.

New Perspectives are the best books for learning and referencing I have used. It was my classroom textbook and I have kept ALL of my Microsoft 2013 books in their line for reference books.

This wasn't much cheaper than buying new local, however, It was in as good as shape compared to buying new at a local book store.

I rented this book off of amazon for a fraction of the price! I recommend borrowing it for the semester, since you'll probably only use it for the Word computer class. The book was in decent condition and had all the assignments I needed to do.

This introduction is a well written and scholastic overview of the Zohar. I was satisfied that I was given plenty of information to better understand the history of the Zohar. I feel that I have enough information in the references to do further research if I choose to do so. I am reading Vol. 1 of the Pritzker Editions and having read the "Guide" I feel confident as I continue my study of the Zohar using Matt's work and even other Kabbalah writings.I recommend Green's Guide especially to those like myself who have little knowledge of the Zohar and the Kabbalah traditional writings. I think it is also a worthy vol. for those more experienced and informed in such studies. I think Green proves himself a learned scholar. To me it was well written and easy to read.

I've been wanting to purchase this Intro Guide to the Zohar for quite some time. So pleased with this Guide!

If you want an excellent introduction to the Zohar, this is a good place to start. It is clear and informative. No prior knowledge needed.

As someone who deals with anxiety, I would not consider this a "self help" book. Matter of fact I actually felt like it triggered my anxiety and I felt worse after reading the first few chapters. I do think the author's perspective is an interesting take. Maybe more suitable for people who don't genuinely suffer from anxiety but are interested in it. In truth, I would not read this again.

I really didn't "get" anxiety until I read this book. I've had friends describe it but I didn't really understand, and a horrible part of me thought they were just being dramatic or attention seeking.Reading this book will help you understand people in your life who have anxiety, and mental health issues.

Wilsonâ€™s memoir is engaging, earnest and somewhat frenetic. It is filled with insight, research, grace, near-constant searching and moments of hard-won wisdom. Wilson mentions anxiety, depression, mania and obsessive compulsive disorder. She states that bipolar disorder was diagnosed, but she feels that anxiety is at the root of the debilitating spirals of panic, insomnia and propulsive activity. The label is perhaps not as important as Wilsonâ€™s willingness to explore her own dark places in order to find wholeness, solid ground and peace. The journey is circuitous and tangled. Wilson ratchets up and careens down, when seemingly innocuous triggers prompt her anxiety. Her life is depicted as an endless series of painful attempts to corral her fears into a manageable framework that will allow her to live happily. Wilson is buffeted by moods, indecision, frequent travel and a jittery, palpable unease. The book will resonate best with anyone who wrestles with the devastating impact of mental illness. I truly empathize with Wilsonâ€™s struggles. She finds meditation, exercise and learning to sit with her discomfort to be invaluable tools for healing, instead of the impulsivity, perpetual change and a pervasive desire to flee whenever anxiety becomes intolerable. Wilson also realizes that age and time give her greater perspective on how to ride out her relentless worry episodes. She finds more balance and self-acceptance, and is able to dwell with her anxiety when it arises, rather than just trying to eradicate it. My issue with the book is in Wilsonâ€™s admissions of sometimes deliberately courting her anxiety. She admits to liking the â€œdramaâ€ of it all. It has perhaps become a source of energy and identity that is both as familiar, as it is disabling. At one point, Wilson mentions being awake for several days at a time at the height of her anxiety. Certainly, protracted periods without sleep can bring on mental fragility. If one stays awake as long as Wilson contends, then deterioration of acuity and function would subsequently occur as a result. With significant sleep loss, mental and physical impairment would be expected. Because Wilsonâ€™s anxiety is so prevalent, it would seem that a strong desire for rest and calm would squelch any behaviors that exacerbate it. Wilson clearly wants to understand her complicated relationship with anxiety, and she succeeds, but perhaps sometimes it serves her too, for the surge of emotional intensity that it provides. Itâ€™s that duality that can make the book frustrating, but still an interesting read.

For those who have wrestled with the beast of anxiety â€” it can be a harrowing, isolating and painful journey. Wilson is very open and honest about her anxiety battlegroundâ€”which is truly refreshing and encouraging. I especially appreciated the authorâ€™s candor on insomnia and the assortment of methods and supplements she uses to fall asleep (as anyone with anxiety can attestâ€”going to bed each night can be daunting and difficult). Though Wilson offers a modern and manic memoir â€” parts of the book felt too scattered and simple. Tips like meditating, cutting out sugar, etc are underwhelming for the true blue anxiety sufferers who need more than just diet tweaks and gratitude journals. At this point, itâ€™s almost insulting to hear to meditate or practice deep breathing. Duh. These practices while potentially helpful donâ€™t represent earth shattering or groundbreaking advice for mental health warriors. Plus, cutting out sugar is not sustainable nor is moving to the jungle as the author does for periods of time. Interesting insight and great personal stories but needs more realistic healing tactics and fresh ideas for recovery.

A great read which offers a much needed alternative way to think about anxiety, bipolar and health in general. I also found it quite comforting to realise that Iâ€™m not alone and also came to understand that Sarah is a deep thinking human - warts and all - and not the perfect guru on a pedestal that many fans have her sitting on. Sheâ€™s got the smarts - thatâ€™s for sure but she also has had the experiences to back her ideas up. Really enjoyed this book.

This book is the best book I've read on anxiety. It is thoroughly researched and contemporary, and Sarah's humour, warmth and self-deprecation make it a refreshing read on an area of mental health often misunderstood and stigmatised. Would (and do as a mental health professional) recommend this book to anyone suffering anxiety. I felt like I was getting everything we know on anxiety, from one book. Exceptionally well-written.

Wow, I now realize that there is someone out there like me who gets it completely. I thought I was alone all of these years. This is a beautiful, important read and one I'll treasure forever.

Many know of him for guaranteeing a win for his team, the New York Jets, over the heavily favored Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III (which was not called by that name yet). Others may know him from his high risk, high reward style of play in the old American Football League before it merged with the established league to create the National Football League. Yet others may remember him for his commercials (the segment on his famous panty hose commercial is worth reading or listening to twice), his hard drinking, his love of the ladies and just being a rebel in the 1960â€™s and 70â€™s.No matter what aspect of Joe Namath intrigues the reader, he or she will enjoy this well researched, well written biography of the man by Mark Kriegel. Kriegel,â€™s time with the New York Daily News gave him insight into the complex character of Namath that others who did not see him during his glory days with the Jets may not have.While the chapters on his exploits on the field are very good, the best research and writing were in the chapters about his time at the University of Alabama and his post-football life when he eventually did settle down, got married and raised two daughters. Some may have a hard time picturing â€œBroadway Joeâ€ doting on two little girls, but that is exactly what he was doing at the time.The other reason that I felt this was an excellent book was how Kriegel related to the reader how Namathâ€™s character was developed. This was a complete description of that process, from Namathâ€™s childhood with divorced parents, how Coach Paul â€œBearâ€ Bryant became his surrogate father at Alabama to his hard partying, perpetual bachelor lifestyle as a pro quarterback to his life as a married man. That is a lot of changes and complexities, each covered in detail.The audio book was a very good version of this work, with excellent narration by Scott Brick. He, like the author, covered the book in an even keel, never putting too much emotion or acting into his delivery. This was one of the most complete sports biographies that I have enjoyed, and the balance of each aspect of Namathâ€™s life is why I believe every sports fan should pick up this book.Pace of the book:The narrative seemed to flow freely and because it followed a chronological timeline, this made the audio book easy to follow.Do I recommend?Yes, especially for football fans who recall â€œBroadway Joeâ€ and his fearless style of play. However, this is also a good read for people who like celebrity biographies, especially as Namathâ€™s celebrity status lasted long after his football career was over.Book Format Read:Audio book

Unfortunately I was only able to see Joe play at the end of his career but this book let's you relive the career and glamour of Joe Namath. It's probably as good a biography about the man as can be done without the access of someone who is actually a very private man. While some may argue his football greatness compared to other great quarterbacks, it can't be argued what he did for football, how he made the AFL relevant, and did it all on knees that would have forced most players to retire. It makes you wonder what he would have accomplished without first hurting his knee at Alabama.

He had a howitzer for an arm, a mind for the game, a sybaritic likestyle, a disregard for anything that interfered with his wants, including teammates and coaches, and one big accomplishment. Predicting that his upstart New York Jets would defeat the old guard Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III, Joe Namath quarterbacked them to victory, although the win was rooted more in the Jets' running game and the creakiness of the aging Colts than in his passing.Most of all, he had star power. Signed out of college to a then-astounding $400,000.00 contract by Sonny Werblin, who before owning the team was a high-powered show business agent, Namath took every advantage of the times to become a symbol different from what professional football had seen before. At a time when the bleatings of youth about oppression were taken seriously by some of their elders and a good deal of the press, he appeared as something new and exciting, Broadway Joe, The Rebel of the Gridiron.He, unlike Unitas and Starr, let his hair hang over his forehead, wore a mink coat, and grew a Fu Manchu mustache. Although coming from a small town in Pennsylvania, he affected a strange accent, part steeltown and part southern, as if he had been raised in Alabama instead of just skipping class there while playing for Bear Bryant. There is nothing wrong with taking advantage of the moment. Celebrities are in the main concerned about their staying power, and their continuing ability to make money. The shelf life of fame can be a short one. Especially if you have nothing else to fall back on.And it is his image that earned him a place in the Hall of Fame. He lost more than he won. He threw more interceptions than touchdown passes. The man who led the equally upstart Kansas City Chiefs to victory in the next Super Bowl, Len Dawson was statistically a far superior quarteback. But Dawson, friendly, articulate, sober and whole, and also enshrined in Canton, never stood up and thanked "all the broads" in Kansas City for the championship win the way Namath thanked them in New York. Dawson just played football and didn't seem much different from a middle class businessman except for working in cleats rather than Florsheim's. But Namath played in America's media capital, put fannies in the seats, and in part, was a reason television networks began paying such large sums to broadcast games on Sunday afternoon, and eventually, Monday nights. He had flair and style, in addition to terribly damaged knees and a selfish asttitude.But Joe Namath, in Mark Kriegel's biography, doesn't seem quite real. Like a plethora of talented athletes, he attracted many to do his bidding, anxious to latch onto his name and fame for their own purposes. But there is in Namath a plastic quality, as if reality never set in, that responsibility was for somebody ele.It ended on a damp field in Chicago for Broadway Joe, a wrecked statue in a mid-season rain, fearing the rush behind his offensive line, the last two-thirds of his career in decline because of injuries and boozing night and day. He did some acting, and made an effort to learn the craft, but the occasional parts never amounted to much. He was awkward on camera, both in movies and on television, and wound up doing regional theatre, the producers using him to attract a few more patrons than usual. Roone Arledge thought that he could analyze football games, and he became part of the worst pro football broadcast team in history, making it necessary for fans to reach for the Monday Night Mute Button.Marrying a tightly-wound, confused and strangely self-conscious younger woman as he reached middle age, he tried mightily to please Deborah Namath. Suspicious of those who participated in his wilder times, she essentially ordered that they all be put out of his life. He complied to the extent that they never heard from him again. He took fatherhood seriously, becoming, it seems, the better parent. The marriage failed. Deborah, who considered herself a serious actress, produced a Chekov play in a basement theatre, and much to her discomfort, the limited actor who played alongside her, in white beard this time rather than green jersey, received the better reviews. Changing her first name a couple of times, she left him for a plastic surgeon whom she considered an "artist" who "wears his hair long." Perhaps Deborah-turned May-turned-Tatiana would have found marital bliss if she had been wed to Salvador Dali.Like DiMaggio, Namath, because he was always treated differently and expected nothing less, ccould never be one of the guys, even decades after he took his last snap. A former Jet teammate and recovering alcoholic,Sonny Grantham, runs a yearly golf outing in support of a charity aimed at helping addicts on the way to sobriety. Many who played the game appear gratis, a nice day to whack the little white ball around the course for a good cause. Never having participated, Namath, who had himself gone into treatment for alcoholism after making a fool of himself on television, expressed delight one year in being invited. And told Grantham to call his agent, a lawyer who hooked onto Namath at Alabama and never let go. He demanded more for Namath's appearance than the charity would have taken in for staging the event. I was lucky enough to be a beta reader for this book, and I am very happy with the published book. Looking forward to the next chapter in Collins story.

This is a little different than most sci-fi books that I have read but it keeps the action through out the whole book. I would recommend it.

The complex character. Cant wait for the next.

Another great beggining to new series from accomplished writer and friend of the sci-fi community.ðŸ‘¾ Kevin just wants to get back to his girls...... but, that's gonna be hard when he's on a prison planet, got a minder called Salter on his back, and he holds the activate/deactivate keywords to the xeno-belter blood running thru him. And, under attack!?! From who? Aren't belters the only ones with Beezer plasma weapons?! Wouldn't they pull his minder at least? His tech was worth an ungodly sum. With his pitbull friend, Salter, Wheezy Leka the medic and a couple of slum teens, they head away from the invisible attackers. Who are mowing down Colonial and prisoners alike. They head for the jungle's edge to follow it to food stores when they have a "Yellow Submarine" experience. Two plate shaped, red/black colored disks with pyramid shaped heads? Kevin fires off a plasma rifle and it deflects it! He takes a running dive and grabs it. Only to find it's split down the middle and full of teeth, biting down him. They had some slug throwers they got off of dead guards and are able to kill it with that. They head toward food storage, only to find the guards keeping prisoners away from buildings. Figures. They'd rather lose prisoners than buildings and infrastructure. While they're watching. The invisible ship opens fire on prisoners and guards alike. Who is attacking? Then a giant whirling pyramid lowers to the ground, and with a ripping sound, separates into two multi-legged towers with spinning heads. They're organic metal? No time! They start eating humans! In the confusion, they get what little they can and run back to the jungle. The whole planet is an industry. One giant Recycle world. If they can get to textiles and then Admin. They might find a shuttle offworld. That's a big if, these Xenos seem to come in many sizes. What's they're endgame? Enjoy, Trapper

I usually don't review of its going to be negative. However, book was well written interesting characters no typos that could find.It just wasn't interesting. I kept reading waiting for something to happen. The super solider on the cover.Kept reading, trudging through the plot. It didn't get interesting to me until halfway through the last chapter. I knew where it was going 1/4 way through.If you like survival and running around with no plan shooting things?This book is for you.

Great start for a new series. It is well written and will keep you up at night reading and you will not want to stop. Looking forward to the next book.

Another well written and exciting book from this author. I highly recommend it.
