This is the best book I've ever read on the Subject Reiki. I've read others and I was completely confused. This book was so easy to understand and I loved the stories that the author told to help with my understanding the entire process and how Reiki came about. The pictures are magnificent! If I could leave 10 stars I would! Love it! Im excited to go forth with my Reiki journey especially after reading this content!
The Power of Reiki: An Ancient Hands-On Healing Technique is a great book, lots of photo's and drawings of how and where to place your hand and how to get stated in Reiki. Since reading this book, I've contacted a person that teaches Reiki and can not wait to start my class.Healing yourself by the tech. in this book seem so easy, and everyone should be able to help themselves and their friends.My Daughter has the Power in her hands naturally and I'm getting her to go with me to the class, she can already use her hands and you can feel them getting HOT just after a few seconds. and after a 10 to 15 minutes, the pain in my back will decrease by as much as 50%. WOWGreat book, everyone should read it.
This book is exactly what it is supposed to be: an excellent Reiki I manual written by a Reiki master-teacher who truly understands the nature of Reiki. I too am a Reiki master-teacher and own many books on Reiki. This is the best one for the newly initiated Reiki I student. I use it as my Reiki I manual. It correctly teaches the healing techniques, the compassionate attitude and the centeredness which the student is seeking in his/her practice of Reiki. The book's only drawback is that it repeats the old ficticious Reiki history attributed to Mrs. Takata. This book was being published before the research by Frank Petter was published. I teach the carefully investigated history found in "Reiki Fire" by Frank Petter, which I also highly recommend.
While this book gives a good overview into Reiki, it's not particularly informative for someone who is seeking in-depth information on using the traditional Usui system. The pictures are lovely and it's well laid out, but it doesn't divulge any information you can't find anywhere on the Internet for free. This is a good book to introduce clients to Reiki, or to see if someone is interested in studying it. It's not a good resource if you are seeking deeper information on use or teaching of Usui Reiki.

I do Reiki and have used her books for years to give to Reiki students as it is the best book ever to explain the wonderful energy and love that theReiki energy is.I love her revised addition too.Tell her thanks so very much for me.Beverly
This was the first book I read about reiki in the year 2000 or early 2001. I used it to do partner assisted reiki. Years later, I remember this. It was a good intro to this subject matter. Now enrolled in a massage therapy school. I want to add this to my toolbox and future practice.
Being from old school I wasn't sure I would be comfortable with what was once an oral history being put in written form. This is a well done book that I found I was reminded of the wonderful gift of Reiki. I have suggested it to many people who wanted to understand what Reiki is and means.
