About the Author
Dr. Rick Jordan has been teaching the Bible for over 30 years. He leads workshops and conferences on teaching the Bible to adults. His Bible study lesson plans are published by Great Bible Teachers, Inc. He has been a youth minister, a minister of education, and a pastor. For the last 15 years, Dr. Jordan has served as the Church Resources Coordinator for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina. He extends his ministry through his blog (GreatBibleTeachers.com), through books and video training, and through Bible study curriculum. He has written curriculum for several publishers, most recently for Nurturing Faith where he wrote weekly lesson plans for each Sunday for 6 years. The lesson plans were downloaded by at least 3,500 teachers each week. He publishes books that help beginning Bible study teachers get off to a good start and helps the good teacher become a great Bible teacher. He writes curriculum that is easy to understand and quick to prepare. Dr. Jordan is a frequent conference speaker and workshop leader in the fields of Faith Formation, Christian Education, Missional Living, and Christian Spirituality. Rick Jordan has a B.A. in English from King University in Bristol, Tennessee; an M. Div. from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri; and a D. Min. from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. He lives in Lewisville, North Carolina.

The Alphabet of Errors is quick, easy, and amazingly helpful! This short book packs a big punch, and is a great addition to any teaching library--whether you are a pastor working in Christian Education, or a lay person teaching Sunday school. This book is simple and easy to digest--but don't let that fool you. It also delves deeply into some of the challenges of teaching and cultivating community in congregational life, and offers insightful wisdom that you ill surely want to share.
This refreshing book helps teachers with common mistakes; mistakes we often unknowingly make. I appreciate Dr. Jordan's approach to teaching very much and encourage you to make this purchase. Rick handles subjects like "how to handle the class bully;" His discussion of the role of the Holy Spirit in the class is spot on. An easy read and a great resource for veteran teachers or someone teaching their first class.
New and experienced Bible teachers will find much to like in this little tome. With an easygoing, accessible style, Dr. Jordan suggests ways to enhance the conveying of Biblical concepts and insights with sensitivity to a diverse spectrum of learners.
